Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Corbel. By creating an account, or by using the service under an invitation, you agree to these terms. Corbel is operated by Providus Labs (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (CIPC reg 2026/142873/07).

1. The service

Corbel is cloud take-off & estimating software for South African quantity surveyors and contractors. You upload construction drawings (PDF), measure quantities directly on them, and Corbel prices those measurements into an ASAQS bill of quantities you can export. Delivered as a web application, operated by Providus Labs (Pty) Ltd (CIPC 2026/142873/07).

2. Accounts and roles

Owners sign up directly and manage an organisation. They invite Admins, Estimators and Viewers to collaborate on projects. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for the activity of the people you invite. If you suspect account compromise, contact us immediately at gareth@providuslabs.co.za.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use Corbel for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to access another organisation's data; (c) upload malware or drawings and content you do not have the right to use; (d) reverse-engineer or copy the service for resale; (e) use scraping or automated tools against the service beyond ordinary API use.

4. Your data

You retain ownership of everything you upload and create — drawings, measurements, estimates and exports. You grant Corbel a limited licence to host, process, and display that data for the sole purpose of operating the service for you and your authorised users. We do not use your data to train models, and we do not use it for marketing.

5. Billing

Paid plans are billed in South African Rand (ZAR) in advance via Paystack, on a monthly or annual cycle of your choosing (annual includes 2 months free). Public pricing is on our pricing page. Fees are non-refundable except as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy or where required by the South African Consumer Protection Act. We may change fees with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions are honoured for the remaining billing period.

6. Availability

We target 99.5% monthly uptime. Scheduled maintenance is announced at least 48 hours in advance. We are not liable for downtime caused by upstream providers (AWS, Cloudflare, Vercel), force majeure, or your own connectivity.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms (eg unpaid invoices, abuse of the platform, unlawful use). On termination we will retain your data for 30 days to allow export, then delete it (subject to the legal-retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy).

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Corbel's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, mispriced tenders, or lost goodwill. You are responsible for checking every bill of quantities and estimate before you rely on or submit it.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Western Cape unless we both agree otherwise in writing.
