What is in the bill
The bill follows the ASAQS format. It has JBCC preliminaries, then the measured work in trade sections such as masonry, carpentry and joinery, and finishes. Each line shows description, unit, quantity, rate and amount.
The bill then adds your markup (O&P) and VAT at 15%, and ends with a total including VAT. Every line traces back to the take-off condition it came from, so you can check any number against the drawing.

How the bill gets built
The bill comes out of the take-off, so you do not re-type quantities into a second workbook.
- Upload your PDF drawings, CAD exports or scans.
- Corbel reads the printed room areas, the door and window schedules, the spec notes and the scale. You accept or reject each reading.
- An accepted room area feeds the floor and ceiling lines. A schedule feeds lintels and sills.
- You measure what the drawing does not state, with each quantity placed on a named condition.
- Build my bill prices the lines from your rates and the SA defaults. You see every line before it goes into the bill.
Nothing is written to the bill until you accept it. Rates never change on their own.
Rates and assemblies
Your rate library holds the rates your firm actually uses. You can also start from the SA starter library. Assemblies, which Corbel also calls recipes, turn one measured quantity into priced components.
The guide How assemblies turn your take-off into a priced BoQ explains how this works. For the layout of the bill itself, read the ASAQS bill of quantities, explained.
Exports
The finished bill exports to Excel, PDF and CSV on every plan. The Consultancy plan also exports a WinQS bill. You can freeze a snapshot to lock a version before you issue it.
For QSPlus and other estimating packages, Excel or CSV is how you move a bill across.
